This month the children will explore the concept of history first beginning with lessons on time continuing through modern forms of government. Being that history is the study of the past, it begins with the present and it looks at what has come before. For the young child, the sense of time can be quite difficult. They have a hard time understanding yesterday and tomorrow. Teachers will introduce conversations revolving around the calendar including the days of the week as well as the months and concepts of time such as day vs. night and yesterday/today/tomorrow. We will look at timelines, prehistory, ancient civilizations, world history, history of specific countries and continents, and much more. We will conclude with dialogues about our past and current Presidents.
