Today our class had a lesson on grinding coffee beans. I let each child have a go at trying to grind so they could see how tough grinding the beans could be. We also enjoyed the smell of the beans as they were being grounded. Now the children will have the choice if they would like to grind a small bag beans of to take home for their parents to enjoy.
PII Worker Bees
Today we had some friends that put in some good works today! Yay to my worker bees.
Sofia is working on the knowledges of symbols and quantities. Alexandra is tracing her numerals 1-50 after working on the 50’s board.
Sebastian is practicing reading set 1 book 3 of our Bob book readers and Judah is sorting numerals 1 through 50 into number families and then placing them in numerical order.
Monday happenings
Today in music class we helped Mr. Jason and his friend Roscoe the turtle put the music bells in scale (solfege-the correct music term Mr. Jason used). He then invited friends to play the bells and create their own music. And we boogied to funk music (The Motete) with Ms. Jason during free dance time.
We also had a small group lesson on the 50’s board. The children sorted number tiles into number families and then we placed them in order from 1 to 50.
Soccer Shots
Today we had our last soccer shots session. But not too worry there will be another. It was nice to see the parents who were able to get away from work to watch their children play. At the end of class Coach Brendan And Coach Francisco passed out certificates and medals for the hard work and participation.
Our Week
This week we found ourselves happily making our mother’s day gifts and it was fun to see how excited the class was to present their gifts of organic body scrub to their mommies.
Cinco de Mayo was Super fun! We had a blast trying to break the minion piñata and we got Tons of candy! And at lunch we stuffed ourselves with cheese quesadillas.
