Our room is all a bloom with flowers this month and the children are enjoying learning about them. Don’t be surprised if your child starts naming and recognizing several different types of them.

Jumpbunch class was so cool this morning as the children played with colorful snowballs and enjoyed their snowball fight. Ask your child to tell you all about their fun Jumpbunch class.

Tomorrow is splash day. Children may come dressed for splash and a cover up over their swimsuits.

This morning during playtime the weather dampened our time on the playground. This gave the teachers the perfect opportunity to teach the children a new game called, Four Square. We improvised some of the rules of the game to make it best fit our children and the amount of children who were playing. Four Square is a great game for further developing eye/hand coordination, space awareness, self control and gross motor skills. Ask your child to tell you more about this game.

Tomorrow is Jumpbunch class. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes for this class.

This morning during music class. The children enjoyed singing songs with Mr. Jason and their visit with Bob the Clam. Ask your child what songs they sang this morning.

Montessori work time appeared to be a welcoming time. The children were very focused with their work. Here are some samples of work we saw, Counting by 2’s, Addition with carrying, USA puzzle map and paper, Handwriting practice, phonetic spelling, Compound words, 100’s board, etc.

Tomorrow is soccer shots. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes for this class.

As we continue to study our monthly theme, We’re all a Bloom, we are also learning about foods we eat from plants and Healthy ‘eating. This morning the children worked with the food pyramid and we discussed Healthy food choices. Ask your child name some healthy food choices and where they would fit in the food pyramid.

Ms. Sherri will be out Thursday and Friday.

This morning the children worked with a lesson about plants and the food we get from them, such as, tomatoes are used to make ketchup and oranges are used to make orange juice. Ask your child what other type foods we might get from plants.

During soccer shots this morning the children learned how to do a roll. If you have a ball at home, ask them to show you this soccer move.

Tomorrow is dance class. This class begins at 9:30.
