Our Wednesday 7/27 The Love Project
We have joined with the Christ Church Cathedral in their campaign # Turn To Love HTX
Our class was very glad to participate. We posted our love notes this morning (sorry for the dark pictures, it was raining this morning).
You can follow the link to see what it’s all about.

For our morning play time the rain showed up so we stayed in and played some movement games. We did the hokey pokey which is a great movement song, it helps reinforce the skill of left and right. We also played In the River and on the Bank. This game reinforces gross motor coordination, listening and following directions. If you are interested in playing this game with your child at home, here are the instructions
How To Play
Some divider is chosen by the leader. This can be a string on the ground, the change between sidewalk and grass, or the imaginary line that is drawn between two chairs set up.
The leader explains that one side of the line is the “river” and the other side of the line is the “bank”. It is essential to be at the right spot at the right time.
Players then line up, shoulder-to-shoulder, on the bank. The facilitator then shouts out one of two commands – “river” or “bank”.
If they facilitator calls “river”, players must jump forward across the boundary line into the “river”. If the facilitator calls “bank”, players must jump back to the “bank”. The facilitator can call bank or river multiple times in a row.
If a player jumps when they are not supposed to (or fails to jump in an adequate amount of time), they are eliminated from the game. (it can be helpful for the leader to have them come help judge who should be out so as to keep them engaged.)
Tomorrow is Jumpbunch and Arts Alive. Tennis shoe are the safest shoes for these classes.
Thursday will be Cooper’s last day at CHES, he will be bringing donut holes for his friends. Friday will be Joshua’s last day; he will be bringing pizza to share with the class for lunch.
Also, just a reminder that splash is on Friday.

How are you at identifying flowers? The Kindergarten children are getting pretty good at it. Our flower lessons are helping quite a bit.
Take a look at our flowers that began blooming this week. Aren’t they the cutest?
Tomorrow is dance class. This class begins at 9:30.
It is that time again to wish our friends a smooth transition into their new schools this fall. Many children and parents will bring special snacks or lunch for their child to celebrate the beginning of a new journey. If you and your child will be bringing things in please inform a teacher so we can be prepared for this special occasion.

Rain, Rain, go away!
Did you know that a meteorologist tells us about the weather?
The children were mini meteorologists throughout the day, looking out the windows to check on the weather. They were wanting to see if we could go outside for our playtimes.
We had fun working on our listening skills and building our language vocabulary while playing picture Bingo. The children had a fun time and we had three winners (Emma, Susanna, and Peggy) who won heart bracelets.
